Dear Brother Knight,
Here are a few reminders of K of C events that will happen in January 2008:
1. At 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday, January 8, the council will hold a first degree
exemplification to induct some new members. To the best of my knowledge, this is
the first time Mother Cabrini Council has held its own exemplification. Please
come and participate. The exemplification will be followed by a very brief
business meeting, mainly to update our calendars. After the brief business
meeting, we will have refreshments.
Sponsors of new members and the new members themselves are requested to arrive
at the Center at 6:30 p.m. in order to prepare.
2. At the 4:00 p.m. Mass on Saturday, January 12, council members will
participate in a Corporate Communion. Please come to the front of the church at
least 20 minutes before the Mass starts to get ready.
3. At 6:00 p.m. on Saturday, January 19, the council will hold a spaghetti and
meatball dinner at Woods Hall in Terra Siesta Mobile Home Park. Proceeds from
these dinners are a principal source of financial support for our council’s
activities. Please help sell tickets after all Masses on the weekends of January
5-6 and 12-13. And please count on participating yourself. In addition, we will
need lots of help setting up the hall that day at about 11:00 a.m.
4. At 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday, January 22, we will hold our regular business
meeting at the Cabrini Center.
In addition to what is planned for January, please put the following items on
your calendar:
1. Contrary to an earlier plan, there will not be a meeting on Tuesday, February
12. In its place we will celebrate our 10th anniversary, below ….
2. On Friday evening, February 15, the council will celebrate its tenth
anniversary with a beef dinner at DeSoto Council. Sure, that is a Friday during
lent, but we will have a dispensation. Plan to attend.
3. At 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday, February 26, we will hold our regular monthly
business meeting.
4. On Saturday, March 1, the council will hold its second annual mens yard sale.
Once again, the effort will be led by Ty McDaniel. Please contribute items for
sale and come prepared to buy. Details on setting up and taking down the sale
will be sent to you later.
